9:45 am Cloth Diapering 101
Cloth diapering can be fun and enjoyable! In this informative workshop you will learn about what you need to get started with cloth diapers, as well as other items that may make your time with cloth diapers easier. We'll showcase a variety of styles available, discuss how to clean and care for your cloth diapers, and provide some tips we've learned along the way. Presented by Go Green Baby.
9:45am First Foods
Introducing foods for the first time to your child can be an exciting but also overwhelming time. The recommendations on when foods should be introduced has changed and these could influence the chance of food allergies developing. The first year of food introduction is key to prevent allergies, set the foundation for healthy digestion and avoid picky eating. Come learn how to get your little one on the right track with their nutrition. Presented by Angela Hunt, ND.
9:45am The Brain Story
Your baby’s brain is extraordinary! Did you know that it has over a million new neural connections per second? Come and learn the basic ideas of early brain development and specific steps to engaging with your little one in ways that will truly benefit you both. The material for this workshop is drawn from AFWI's The Brain Story and from Center on the Developing Child, Harvard University and is for parents, grandparents, teachers, care providers, and any adult who interacts with babies and children. Presented by Laura Gillian, BA Sociology, Brain Story Certified, Birth and Postpartum Doula.
10:45am Rhythm and Rhyme
Presented by Kingston Frontenac Public Library. Through rhythm, rhyme and movement, children three and under will naturally develop language and increase their ability to hear the smaller sounds in words. Experience hands-on play with bells, rhythm sticks, scarves, shakers and more.

Join Liz Hughson, Lactation Consultant for a discussion on breastfeeding and you can ask any and all of your questions!
10:45am Self Compassion for Parents
Being a new parent is really, really tough. Living in a culture of self-criticism makes it even harder. Learning self-compassion can help parents turn down the volume of their inner critic and strengthen their kind, compassionate inner voice. In this workshop we will go through the elements of self compassion: mindfulness, acknowledging imperfection as our common humanity and practicing self-kindness. We will discuss self-care strategies for busy parents and setting healthy boundaries. Presented by Bethany Smith, Registered Psychotherapist.
12:15pm Infant Massage
Our infant massage group workshop is where we will take you through the massage teaching you techniques to take home and use on your little one. Infant massage is great to aid in digestion, improve sleep, enhances parent-infant bond and helps to stimulates touch receptors. Presented by Deep Rooted Massage.
12:15pm Pre and Post-Natal Pelvic Health: what should I know?
An informative session with Pelvic Health Physiotherapist, Rachel Coens, covering pelvic floor anatomy, function, prevention, preparations for labour & delivery and considerations for the 4th trimester.

1:15pm Babywearing 101
Join Amanda Findley from Kingston's natural parenting shop Go Green Baby for an interactive demonstration of different styles of baby carriers along with important safety importation for wearing your baby and young child.
1:15pm The Power of Lullabies
Bonding - Calming - Sleeping. Lullabies - They work! For many of us, the songs we may remember most as adults are often the lullabies that were lovingly sang to us as children. These songs helped create the special bond we had with our parents and caregivers. For expectant parents or the parents of a young child, what better way to connect with their child than through song? We will sing through some lullabies you may or may not know, equipping you with lovely songs to sing with your family. Presented by Christina Foster of Kingston Frontenac Music Together.

2:15pm Meal Planning for Busy, Thriving Families
Finding the time to prepare nourishing food for your little ones can seem like an overwhelming task, especially when you are already pulled in so many directions as a parent, grandparent or guardian. Join Courtney O'Connor, RHN in this workshop as you learn time-saving strategies so you can provide healthy, nutrient-dense meals to your family even if you have a busy schedule. Courtney O'Connor is a Registered Holistic Nutritionist at Kingston Integrative Healthcare. She works with individuals and families to restore optimal health through natural foods and holistic practices.
2:15pm Car Seat Safety
Join Certified car seat technician Kelly Beckwith as she takes you Beyond The Minimums of car seat safety. This seminar will discuss selecting and using the appropriate seat for your baby’s size and development; how to dress baby for travel in the car; car seat installation; and where to find help in the Kingston and surrounding area.

Whether you are expecting your first baby or your fifth, it's never too late to learn about the wonderful support of Doulas! Come sit with the Doulas of Doula Support Foundation to have your birth support questions answered and hear about how Doulas can benefit you!
